More Confusing Terror-Related News From Pakistan

If you think we're getting mixed signals about terrorism here, you should see what's happening in Pakistan.

We've already seen a series of indications that the Pakistani intelligence service ISI is connected to al-Q'aeda, in close and disturbing ways.

Even more disturbing, perhaps, a report published Wednesday by the Daily Times says the parliamentary defence secretary, Tanvir Hussain Syed (major-retired) was once a member of the banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LT).
“I was a member of the LT and I admit it on the floor of this house,” he told the National Assembly while taking part in a debate...
What would be the equivalent in US terms? It's almost as if Dumsfeld told the Senate he was a war criminal.

Can you imagine?
