Military Flare Burns 20 Square Miles Of New Jersey

CNN reports:
Strong wind gusts pushed flames through 20 square miles of brush north of Atlantic City, New Jersey, in a blaze sparked when a military jet dropped a flare on a bombing range.

Lt. Col. James Garcia, a spokesman for the New Jersey Air National Guard, said the fire was believed to have been started Tuesday afternoon with a flare dropped from an F-16 fighter jet on the Warren Grove Gunnery Range.
What was it again? Protect, defend ... ??

I guess it's a good thing these guys are on our side. Imagine if they were trying to cause damage!
